You can usually count on William Basinski to give his music titles that evoke a strong sense of existential dread, and his latest is no exception. In the realm of past-life regression hypnotherapy, there is a concept known as “Life Between Lives,” in which a sacred exchange of energy occurs between two souls in the spirt world, helping a spirit fully understand and forgive a being who hurt them in a past life. This exchange – called “passing the cup of sorrows” – is the inspiration for his first new album in six years. So yes, hope you “enjoy” it.
