Oh hi. I’m back! Did you miss me / notice? I’ve been doing Very Important Things at the Amsterdam Dance Event along with a load of other electronic music idiots, so have been neglecting my bloggerly duties. So to make up for it here’s a 37 minute improvised jazz epic from Wendy Eisenberg, one of two expansions on tracks from her self-titled LP released earlier this year. “Subjecting these two songs, songs that are explicitly about memory, to a compositional process explicitly about length, lets me perceive the time in each song differently” she says of the process. “In these versions, the form is maintained but sections elide, become solos, become worlds.” Happy Friday!
