John Beltran – Meant For Her

John Beltran is currently odd on for being the first artist to secure two places in TPW’s legendary Best Albums end of year list. Canada, released back in February, is pretty much flawless, and today the digital version of Sunrise And The Life We Live arrived in a haze of ambient techno glory. ‘Meant for Her’, written after the end of the relationship in late 2025, carries a subdued optimism beneath its melancholic surface; a distinct vibe that runs through the entire record.

worriedaboutsatan – I Am Vanishing into the Trees

worriedaboutsatan return with Outland, an eight-track album that moves between expansive ambient passages, electronic textures, and shorter, more fragmented pieces. Album highlight I Am Vanishing into the Trees is an 12 minute beast that closes out the LP in an astonishingly epic manner.

Voices From The Lake – Voices From The Lake II

Voices From The Lake’s eponymous album came out way back in 2o12, and I’ve probably returned to it on a nearly weekly basis every since. Donato Dozzy and Neal’s collaborative project started as a one-off live performance in the Japanese Alps before birthing an album that, according to the press notes, “become a touchstone in ambient techno, reshaping the global landscape of hypnotic and atmospheric electronic music.” I heartily agree. I cannot express how much I’ve loved this album over the last decade and more. The follow up, Voices From The Lake II, arrived today, and is already in my top 10 of the year.

Valentino Mora – IIIII1IIIIIIII1IIIIIIIII

It’s less than 2 months until the best album of 2025 will be released: Voices From The Lake’s II, the follow up to their eponymous, seminal debut. I’ve listened to this pretty much weekly in the intervening 13 (!) years, so the hype is very real. In the meantime, we have Valentino Mora’s also brilliant Biotope, released on Dozzy’s Spazio Disponibile and operating in a similarly atmospheric, hypnotic realm.
